Jungle

We are protecting more than 2.500 acres of primary jungle: higher rainforest in the “Jaguar Ecological Reserve” and lower rainforest in the surroundings of the Jungle Lodge, on both sides of the Napo River. Both banks of the river serve as comparative elements between the different types of fauna and flora among the extraordinary biodiversity existing in this area. The treks into the high primary jungle take from three to five hours, whereas from two to three hours into the low primary jungle (easy hiking conditions).

Generally the treks are achieved in the morning. As well as is the other activities, they are lead by a native professional guide well educated in the fauna, flora, natural medicines, Quechua and Huaorani indigenous cultures, as well as jungle survival methods. Treks by night are also available to watch terra firme species (especially snakes).
